Microsoft Teams Error code caa7000a

Hi,

one of my users doesn't manage to login to Teams using the desktop application.

He receives the caa7000a.

I've tried to:

1) Fully exit the Microsoft Teams desktop client.
2) Go to File Explorer, and type in %appdata%\Microsoft\teams.
3) Once in the directory, you’ll see a few of the following folders:

a. From within ‘Application Cache’, go to Cache and delete any of the files in the Cache location.
   *   %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\application cache\cache
b. From within ‘Blob_storage’, delete any files that are located in here if any.
   *   %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\blob_storage
c. From within ‘Cache’, delete all files.
   *   %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\Cache
d. From within ‘databases’, delete all files.
   *   %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\databases
e. From within ‘GPUCache’, delete all files.
   *   %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\GPUcache
f. From within ‘IndexedDB’, delete the .db file.
   *   %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\IndexedDB
g. From within ‘Local Storage’, delete all files.
   *   %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\Local Storage
h. Lastly, from within ‘tmp’, delete any file.
   *   %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\tmp

4) Restart Teams client.

But nothing happens. Fortunately the web access works well.

How can I do to solve the problem?

Many thanks in advance

Hello Antonio Giovanni Colella,

Thanks for your post in Microsoft community. Please check the below suggestions.

  • Completely uninstall Teams client app and reinstall it again to check if it helps.

  • If still same issue, change your network and check if Microsoft Teams client is able to login and also kindly check there is no firewall or antivirus blocking Microsoft Teams client app.

  • If issue persist, use different computer and check if the affected user is able to login with his account on Teams client app, it helps to identify if the issue is related with affected user’s account or his computer. If it works in different computer, means issue should be with his device, ask him to check his Windows is updated with latest software and ask him to create new Windows user profile and check if Microsoft Teams client app is working or not.

Thanks and regards,

Ankita Vaidya

Many thanks Ankita,

  • I've tried many times to uninstall and re-install the client app on user's laptop on his home network;
  • the app on user's desktop (different network and different computer) works well without problems.
  • it is not possible to ask the user to create a new windows profile.

Thanks again

Antonio

After trying literally every option posted online in last 3 weeks to get rid of the caa70007 error, right clicked Teams, ran as administrator, logged in with admin privs (local laptop) which then prompted me to login to Teams with new credentials. After that, was able to log back into Teams on laptop for the first time in a while. Didn't want to have to run as admin everytime, so closed, re-opened, and yay it immediately went into Teams without prompting for the username.

Seriously hope this sticks (haven't rebooted yet, nervous to)...and hope this helps someone else as a very minimal simple solution. Of course, ya gotta have admin privs to do this. For my specific situation, the Teams login went through a corp VIP login process that required secondary auth, so this might not be a common solution for everyone...but after all the wonky guesses, reinstalls, regedits, that others are posting, an admin run attempt definitely worth a try.

Running as admin doesn't stick. Switched to compatibility mode for Windows 8 and it 'worked' - thanks for suggestion Zhi

Hi,

I disconnected my WIFI on my laptop and reconnected it and then my teams came back online just back to normal. Hopefully that can work for some of you having this issue.

You're a lifesaver! I spent my whole day trying to solve this with the IT guy, and nothing helped! Just enabled compatibility mode, and now it's running.

Thank you!
