Office 365 - User Account Lockout

Good Afternoon,

I've tried to do some research on Office 365 and its user lockout settings. From what I can find, it seems that Office automatically sets this. I found this article: - https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_o365admin/account-lockout-policy-for-office-365-and-azure/c82bdf9b-9b19-464d-8e63-b7b8c70fb1c7?auth=1

It seems that they are pre-set. Is it possible to modify these settings to reflect the internal company policy on a maximum number of attempts allowed?

Looking forward to hearing back,

Kind regards,

Jacques

Answer
Answer

Hi Jacques,

Unfortunately, it can’t be customized. The purpose of policy is to prevent unauthorized use as brute-force attack instead of blocking the user out of Office 365. Therefore, there’s no such settings to change this policy.

Thanks,

Rena
