Phone lost, now can't login to 0365 admin account

I know my username and password, but the authenticator app is no more. How can I recover this account, I  can't login to open a  support ticket or find a number to call.

This link tells me that it should be possible o login with password, what happens if you try?

“Are you tired of trying to remember your password? With this free app, you can sign into your personal Microsoft account without one. For security, you’ll use a fingerprint, face recognition, or a PIN. And don’t worry—if anything happens to your mobile device or if you forget your PIN, your password will still get you into your account

To recover the password by using “Have forgotten my password” could be one way to recover the account. But if you don’t have security information to where a verification code can be sent the account might end up in quarantine for 30 days.

Reset password if it is forgotten

Go to sign into your account: https://account.microsoft.com/account

Select Forgot your password?

Do you have recovery information to receive verification code?

Do you have an account recovery code (25 characters)?

Please let me know the result of your action or if you need some more ideas.

Hello CharlieMcAndrew,

From your description, I understand you are using an Office 365 for Business admin account, and your admin account has been set up 2-step verification method, right? I am sorry for hear your phone ha lost, I believe all will be better. Based on the fact that you cannot receive verification code in Microsoft Authentication app anymore, if there is another admin in your organization, please contact him/her to change the authentication of your account like below:

1. Login to Office 365 admin center, select Users > Active users > Multi-factor authentication.

2. Select your account and click “Manage user settings” option and tick check box next to “Require selected users to provide contact methods again”.

3. When you login your account to Outlook Web App later, you will prompt to change the authentication method, you could select to use Authentication phone method via your current phone number.

Best Regards,

Betty

Hi Betty,

There is no other admin. I cannot log into the account to change preferences. Is there any way that you can disable the 2fa on my admin account? I would like to talk to someone directly about this if possible. The only reason I am here is I couldn't find any support numbers to help with my paid business account.

Chuck
