Hi,

You may try the following steps and check if it helps:

Go to Start > All Programs > Right click on Microsoft Office folder > Copy it and then Paste it on the desktop.

Check if this helps you in getting all the shortcuts for Office applications.

Reply with the results to assist you better.

Thank you.

Thanks a lot,

Not that didn't help what I have been looking for.

If you mean with this:

'

This is what has been added after pasting it on desktop.

It is not a shortcut at all.

Also, I have tired sending it as shortcute to Desktop, but it was a shortcut folder

But this is not what I have bee looking for.

If you have a look at the screenshot posted in my very first post, you will see that the icon of MS office 2010 is different and it isn't like a shortcut folder like what I have now.

Thanks a lot,

I, myself, don't think the windows shortcut desktop of MS 2010 suites didn't appear on the desktop after installing MS 2010 due to problem in installing or uninstalling.

I have removed the MS 2010 with Revo Uninstaller Pro and removed all leftovers of it. Then I installed it again. But the shortcut didn't appear as well.

NOTE: I don't the disc, however, I have installed from Virtual Clone driver since I have MS 2010 as an ISO file.

Besides, I have run the  Microsoft Fixit tool Uninstall the MS 2010, and then re installed it. But no shortcut has been added as well.

Hi,

Create a new Windows user account and check if it helps.

Refer to the following link for more information on creating new Windows user account.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows/create-user-account#create-user-account=windows-7

Remove and reinstall the Office in the new Windows user account and check.

Thank you.

I believe you could create a shortcut to the Microsoft Folder onto your desktop as well.

Worst case scenerio (if you do not want to uninstall and reinstall the program) you could create a folder and copy shortcuts to the applications into it.

The one in the image appears to be a shortcut to that path - Which is my preferred method.

To create a shortcut just right click > New > Shortcut and paste the path into there so in your example:  ****\Windows\Start menu \ Programs \ Microsoft

The Send To , Desktop (create shortcut) was the correct command. Go back to the desktop shortcut and right-click, Properties then use the Change Icon on the Shortcut tab. Next, open the folder and right-click a blank are of the Explorer pane and choose View, large Icons. That should get you what you want.

@Guruprasad Ra;

When you crack walnuts, do you use a sledgehammer or a battering ram? Why on earth would you advocate the uninstallation and complete reinstallation (and subsequent service packs and Office updates) of Office 2010 in order to create a simple desktop shortcut?

This is probably going to be your absolute best method to get this to show up on your desktop. I'm not sure why a re install was recommended (?) but this should perform the function that you are looking to do.

BTW, the image in your original post seems to be showing the icon used by ProtocolHandler. When you use the Change Icon command on the desktop shortcut, browse to your Office14 folder and locate the protocolhandler.exe file to get access to its icon.
