Office 365 for education.

Hello. I’m a student of PES University, one of the top colleges in Bangalore, India. I recently discovered about your office 365 for education scheme, and was interested in it. But there are 2 issues.

a) I don’t know if our college is a part of the scheme, and if it is,

b)we don’t get a college email ID, it’s directly linked to our general email ID.

So I wanted to know if there’s any way I can verify and avail the student offer.

As far as I know, your university has to sign up for the general program. In addition, you will need an .edu email address. You should discuss this with the IT department at your school. They can offer at least the online version of Office to students for free as well as qualify students for the steep student discount without any further cost simply by setting up the email.

Some schools pay for students to have downloaded applications on their desktops; most pay for a less-expensive version that only uses the online apps.

There is a 4-year deep discount subscription available for some students as well.

Even if you have free use at your current school, you may want to take advantage of this while you still have an .edu email. It will last after your student status ends. I currently have that as my Office 365 subscription (as staff, not student).

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if you have any more questions or require further help.
