I am receiving this message. None of the troubleshooting steps suggested in this article have worked so far. I have also tried creating new local profiles, both with admin rights and without.
The PC I am working on previously had different language packs installed (EN, FR, ES) which I had removed as well as the click-to-run Office that was installed as well. I am now trying to install from Office 365 and keep running into this Administrative Privileges Required message.
Any help is appreciated.

I've got same message with a brand new installation of Windows 10 Pro version 1803: very first occurrence in my career of this issue!!
After googling around, I found an article which describes well the issue and suggests another article with 3 possible solution.
I personally solved with Method 2 but without registry changes...: just secpol.msc + pc restart!
Hope it helps!

I would guess there may have been some updates to the O365 portal. Perhaps there will be patch soon.
As an MSP we create O365 portals with one admin account (Global Administrator) that does not get a license assigned.
-I had to log into the O365 portal and make the user a global Admin
-Disable the windows firewall and AV on the local PC
-Use a local account with local administrator rights (not the built-in administrator, leave that disabled)
-Download the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant for Office 365 and use it to install Office
(then remember to change the O365 portal user back to a standard account)
This error did occur whether the PC had recent updates or not. Appears to be an issue with the O365 portal and not so much the local PC.
