Q: "Windows installer service can not update one or more protected windows files, installation failed"

I get an error when I try to Install Office 2007 Home & Student. "Windows installer service can not update one or more protected windows files, installation failed" How do I find which files to unprotect and how do I unprotect them?

Try the steps mentioned below for the issue you are facing installing office 2007

Copy Fp4autl.dll from the cd to the "C :\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\40\Bin\" dir.

Because files Fp4autl.dll and FP4AWEC.DLL is missing , search ( C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\40\bin ) you will not find two files.

Fallow this step

>  Go to download " http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/confirmation.aspx?familyId=17c36612-632e-4c04-9382-987622ed1d64&displayLang=en "

>  Software Update for Web Folders (KB907306) start download .....
>  Then setup file and it will ask for your CD windows   and wait a minute ...... it will ok
>  Restart computer
>  And finally setup Microsoft office 2007
