Question

Q: Error message when closing PowerPoint This thread is locked from future replies

3 days ago I bought a new Lenovo L412 laptop with WIN7Pro and 2 days ago I bought the MSOffice2010 Home & Business Pack on-line direct from MS.

Curious issue occurs with PowerPoint when I close it, click on the X in top right corner.

I get a message box appear with "Microsoft PowerPoint Has Stopped Working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem"

Sometimes this box changes to "Restarting MS PowerPoint", where it restarts the program, and sometimes the the error box goes away without telling me anything about any problem it has or has not found.

One way or another I get this 'error' every time.

I'm appalled to have such a problem, albeit minor, on a fresh brand new installation.

Any help please???

Answer

A:

If there are any older versions of Office installed, uninstall them.

Try changing the default printer to Microsoft XPS document writer and verify the results.

How to change default printers

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Change-your-default-printer

If this helps then update the printer drivers.

Did this solve your problem?

Sorry this didn't help.
