Error 1309 While Installing Office Professional 2010.

Hi,

While installing Office Professional 2010, the following error msg was displayed: "Microsoft Office Professional 2010 encountered an error during setup. Error 1309. Error reading from file :D:\Office XP 2003\Microsoft Office 11 v.2003\SKU0111.CAB. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it. Setup failed. Rolling back changes..."

This msg appeared some time after entering the Product Key and about half way into the installation.

I am trying to install the software on a Toshiba Notebook, with

  • 32-bit Operating System with 3 GB memory (RAM) and
  • Inter Core Duo CPU T5670 @1.8GHz 1.80GHz processor. 
  • using Windows Vista Business with Service Pack 2 installed.
Note that the I do not have a disk as the Office Professional 2010 was downloaded (X16-32007.exe)  and saved to the desktop as per instructions.

Any suggestions to correcting this error would be greatly appreciated.

Check for multiple version of Office in your computer and uninstall it

Run the 'Fix It' tool available under ‘Office 2010 suites’ from the link below. This will completely remove all the installed components of office.
Note: Before running the ‘fix it’ tool make sure that you have the Microsoft office download and its product key to reinstall it back.

Once done, restart your computer in clean boot mode and then install office 2010.

Note: Ensure to reset the computer to start in normal mode after you have finished troubleshooting.
