Can't install Office 2013 in Windows 10

I have a Lenovo laptop with Windows 10 preinstalled with the trial version of Office 365. When I try to install my Office Pro  Plus 2013 I get the message to unstall other copies of Office, but when I do that the Office 2013 won't install because it says the Program Files.exe. Help!
Hi,

Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Mention the complete error code/message you received while installing Office 2013.

Let's remove all traces of Office application by running the 'Fix it' from the following link and then install Office 2013.

Hope this helps. If you have any queries, do let us now.
Thank you.

Thank you for your quick response.  I had tried the fix-it before but this time it worked!  I was able to install (I thought) the office disc and thought all was well.  However, now I can't open anything by left clicking the start button, even though it does turn blue, and right clicking gives me the usual options.  Also, I no longer have the Microsoft Edge icon on my taskbar and it seems to have disappeared altogether, as has the office installation. I opened programs and features and even though it completely installed its not in the list of programs.  In other words I am much worse of now than before. My main reason for installing the office program was, because I had it and because it was my hope that Mail and Calendar would work  through Windows 10 since none of the workarounds have made them work and it appears it's becoming a none-issue for the techs, but not the customers. No disrespect intended. Suggestions??? Any help is appreciated!

Hi,

Glad to know you were able to install Office successfully. I understand that now you are facing issues with Start button.

Reboot your computer multiple times and sign in to your user account and check if it works.

I was unable to get any office functions to open. I did a system restore and the apps and start button work again but I had to uninstall the Office program.  The only way to check my mail is through outlook.com.  I will try to reinstall the office program one more time to see if that will work now. If not it's uninstall and change email addresses.
