Excel 2016 Pro Plus--I am missing new functions (i.e. MaxIfs, TextJoin)?

Hi,

I have Office 365 Pro Plus installed on a Windows 10 Pro machine.

I have Office 2016 with all the updates installed.

In Excel Pro Plus I don't have the new functions such as MaxIfs, MinIfs, TextJoin, IFs, Concat. I have tried to reinstall Office with no success.

On my work laptop I use Excel 2016 Business via Office 365 Business Edition and do have access to these functions. Also have accesss to them via Excel online.

I know some of you must be thinking I downloaded Office 2013 instead, but that is not the case.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Answer

You are one of many who are confused by this matter - it took me weeks to sort it out.

The Business version of Office 365 has various update options - not so with Home & Student

One setting (First Release --- see screenshot) causes all new function to be incorporated on a monthly basis rather than 3 monthly.

The update setting is controlled by the account manager -- and it takes some searching to find the spot!

The new functions are available to all with Excel Online

best wishes
