Question

Q: Privacy warning for Office Excel This thread is locked from future replies

Hi, I have been using various macros in a xltm file that has been working very well.

I have suddenly been starting to experience a warning popup window at random times while I am working on the file:

"Privacy warning:  This document contains macros, ActiveX controls, XML expansion pack information, or Web components.  THese may include personal information that cannot be removed by the Document Inspector"

Has anyone experienced this before?  Extremely frustrating!  Especially as I can't see why this has suddenly started to happen...!?!!

Any thoughts anyone?

Many thanks

Answer

A:

Sometimes settings get changed with little or no notice by Windows updates.

Go into Office button / Word Options button / Trust Center option / Trust Center Settings button. Make sure the file is located in a folder that has been defined as a "trusted location".

Take a look at the Add-ins options. Maybe you have the "must be signed" option turned on

Take a look at ActiveX Settings options.

When things are bad, you can either:
- cuss,
- cry or
- laugh ...

Why not choose to laugh

Did this solve your problem?

Sorry this didn't help.
