Data>FIlter Button Greyed out

I'm working on a data table where the filter buttons on the header works fine, but i don't know why the FILTER BUTTON in HOME TAB as well as DATA tab are greyed out, although the sort button is not. 

DATA>FIlter button works for other table ranges in the same workbook but just not this particular one which holds a lot of data that i need advanced filtering. even on the same sheet the filter button works apart from this particular table, as shown in the pictures.

The sheet is NOT PROTECTED, NO COLUMN OR ROW IS HIDDEN, THE SHEET IS UNGROUPED.

no, My table already have filter buttons in the header row as shown in the picture and they work too. the FILTER BUTTON in DATA TAB is greyed out for some reason only for this table. that post isn't for me, but thanks anyways for trying to help.

I am not sure what was the root cause but converting it into range and converting back into table enabled the Filter button.

Click anywhere in the table
Design tab > Convert to range
This will change structured table to range

Now select your range which is $A$2:$N$5996
CTRL+T > OK
This will convert into structured table again.

Your filter will be enabled again.

Note - You will have to write your formulas using structured references again.

Yeah, that works i did it already, but as you stated table nomenclature references will be lost, and it will take a lot of time identifying and rectifying them again in to structured reference. I'd rather not do that. hoping to find out what exactly is the problem. Appreciate your help, but this still doesn't solve the problem. thank for putting your time into it mate.
