Excel App Crashes on iOS 9 Beta 3

Excel app crashes on devices with iOS 9 beta 3. The app opens but it crashes when I want to edit a worksheet. I uninstalled and then reinstalled the app but that did not solve the problem. The crash happens on iPad Air 2, iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.

Update: Microsoft released v1.12 on Aug 12 and it solved the problem. The new version works with iOS 9 beta 5 without any problems.

AFAIK.. there would be issues with Apps running on the new ios. Currently I cannot test this on my end but I can suggest you to reset the app to see if that makes a difference.
Truth is still truth, even if you don't believe in it.

I have tried deleting and reloading the app but this does not work. I have reported this to Apple as part of the beta testing program and I know there are other users who have reported it. I assume it will be fixed in a later release of the iOS or the app.

I have experienced the same issue. Try and open a new excel workbook in the app and see if this works (just try tap something). Then try again to open an existing workbook and it should surprisingly work. At least it does on my iPad Air (iOS 9 beta 4).

reinstalling might not help. reset as mentioned earlier and see if it still crashes.

Reset did not work, I tried the app on iOS 9 beta 4 but it is still crashing. Excel Team should test the app on iOS 9 beta releases.

Other developer test their apps' compatibility with new iOS beta releases immediately and they release updates to address the compatibility issues. Microsoft should act quickly if it wants to stay relevant in the App Store.

Yes that works

I had managed to edit my work books on a couple of occasions but did not know what I had done to make it work . As soon as I read your reply I realised this was the solution. At least until Apple or Microsoft come up with the permanent fix.

Thanks for your help

Microsoft distributed Excel app 1.11 today. As tested so far my OneDrive files are able to load and I'm also able to edit the trables the usual way again. Try updating and see if this solves the matter.

I'm using Excel v 1.11, unfortunately the app is crashing on iPad Air 2, iPhone 6 and 6 Plus with iOS 9 Beta 4.

I rest the app on all the devices and also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app NO LUCK. iOS beta releases are pretty stable after 3rd release. Outlook app team unlike Excel team is very quick in responding to issues and also they have a beta program for Outlook app. I've reported a few bugs and they've fixed them all.

I'm using Excel 1.11 on an iPad Air 2. I have the same issues with Excel crashing as soon as I try to edit a cell. The only thing that does seem to help (with about a 75% success rate) is to switch between sheet tabs at the bottom. If the sheet only has one, then adding extra sheets and switch between them  a few times has for me got Excel up and running. I've no idea why! But this has enabled me to edit and save some crucial spread sheets. Hope this helps.
