Sign in to Word Online

I have MS Word Online saved as a favourite on the Bookmarks bar on my new laptop. Every time I try to log in, the Microsoft log in page refreshes before I can type in my email address. The login page keeps refreshing every five or so seconds. This is using Chrome. I tried using MS Edge, same result.
By copying and pasting my email address I can beat the refresh and go on to the password page, where I can type in the p word before it refreshes, and I'm in! However, obviously I would prefer to log in the traditional way. This is very frustrating and I am sorely tempted to go back to using Google Docs.

Any suggestions?

Ciao,

Regarding your question [thanks to Jesinta Rozario]:

Method 1: Open the webpage in compatibility mode.

1. Open Internet Explorer and open the webpage (in your case Microsoft Website).

2. Once the page displays, press Alt and select Tools > Compatibility View Settings.

3. Click Add and then Close.

Method 2: Clear Browsing history and Caches.

Follow the link below and clear browsing history.

View and delete your browsing history

Please let me know if this helps.

Ciao

Hi Ugo

I wish to continue using Google Chrome, so if you have a solution for that I would be grateful, although I do not think it is a browser issue, as I said, the problem is the same in MS Edge.
I have already cleared the cache, and that had no wffwct. This is a new laptop (less than a week old) so it should not be a cache problem anyway.

Ok Barbara, can you please just try step one to exclude the compatibility issue? In that case, we will work together for a Chrome solution

Hi Ugo

I used IE and it worked straight away, so I will carry on using that for now. If there is a solution for Chrome, please let me know. Thanks for your help.

Ok, in this case the easiest option is to use a Google extension -
IETAB
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ie-ta...

In this way, you'll be able to see websites in chrome as they were on IE.

Could you please let me know if this works for you?
