transfer data to a new computer

I am in the process of transferring info from an old pc to a new pc and need my product to open my Microsoft on the new pc.
Hi Thomas

I am Dave, an Independent Advisor, I will help you with this . . .

Do you mean you want to install Microsoft 365 on your new PC?

If so, log into this page: https://account.microsoft.com/services/

On that page, you will find your Microsoft 365 subscription and from there, you can install that on your new PC . . .

If that is not what you require, please provide a bit more detail on your question . . .

Do you already have Office 365?  In that case all you have to do is install on the new computer. The option is part of your 365 subscription, it allows you to install on up to 5 computers at the same time.

I was doing some digging into the upcoming change to Microsoft 365. Along the way I found some existing "free" "Partner Benefits" available to existing Office 365 Home and Personal subscriptions. The link above includes more information and a link to the Partner page. Make sure you go to the partner page for the right country, I’ve found that the offers are country specific.

“New” Simplified Install Office Method – Win10 Office App for Office 365 / Microsoft 365 Install and subscription management

I’ve found a “new” use for the Win 10 “Office” tile/app. Simplifying Office 365 installation and subscription management.

.

For a while now I’ve thought it was pretty useless. Now I’ve changed my mind, but only if you have any Office 365 or use Office Online.

In the Win10 Start menu, search for Office, Pin the orange “office” tile to the Start pane or Win taskbar.

Like other Office applications you can sign in to it, or it automatically signs in if you have signed in to any of the other applications. You can see your icon in the upper right corner of the window.

The interesting part I just learned is that this app ties in to both consumer and business Office subscriptions.  This is where the new utility comes from.  If you want to install, or re-install, Office on your computer, just click on the “Install” button and it finds the right install file for you.

If you want to find information about your subscription, click on the “MyAccount” button. It will take you to the consumer MyAccount page or business “portal” web page. Either way you can manage your subscription from there.

These two shortcuts make it much easier to people to manage their Office 365 license

As well, when you are signed in to a 365 subscription, clicking on one of the application buttons will launch the appropriate application. If you are not signed in, it will launch the Office Online (web) version of the application.  Unfortunately, if you have a one-time payment license to Office 2016 or 2019, this app will not work to launch those desktop applications.

And of course it has a collection of Most Recently Used file links and Pinned files.

The shortcut for the applet is <CTL><ALT><SHF><WIN>
