Random Unauthorized Charge

So this morning around 5:30AM, a $600 grant from my college that I've been waiting for for quite some time, literally to live off of having lost my source of income due to COVID lockdowns. At the same time as the deposit, I was charged by, "Microsoft 1 Way Redmond WAUS", for $99.99. Upon finding this in my transaction history I immediately called Microsoft customer service, which instructed me to take it up with my bank. The bank rep said they have filed a dispute for me that can take 3-10 days to process, and I think he said i may lose access to my account during this time, which can NOT happen. I need these funds to live. i didnt order this product, i get Office access free through my college, but prefer Google's services anyways. Hours after all this, i finally get an email, the only thing ive gotten from microsoft in quite a while (because i never use it), saying that my account was successfully charged for a family plan, nothing about the dispute at all. Is this going to be a long drawn out ordeal just to get back money i never agreed to spend back, or is Microsoft an honest and quick acting company? Time is a factor here and getting locked out of my acount could be devastating. Any advice would be helpful.

  Thanks,

BriAngelia

You are just one of a legion of people with unwanted charges. MS has to keep it's profit's up somehow.

.

Yes, according to reports we have seen this will likely be a long drawn out fight to get your money back.

.

The MS system has not been allowing people to cancel "free trials", so they are billed for subscriptions, then when they try to cancel they are told the cannot do the cancel or get their money back.
