How do I "enable content" in Access

I am running Windows Vista and I have Office XP with Access. My PC recently crashed and I recovered the access Database file. It has over 12k bites so I am certain the info is there. The recovery company said they opened it after "enabling content". How do I do that.

Answer

I think they mean that if you open a Database which is not opened from a "Trusted location" then you receive the Security Alert warning, which then ask you to "Enable Content" if you believe its safe to open it.

See also how to add Trusted location in Microsoft Access in this thread:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/access-help/create-remove-or-change-a-trusted-location-for-your-files-HA010031999.aspx#BM11

Also you can modify settings for your Macro's as well in the same Trust Center with Access Options.

Hope this helps,

Daniel
