Word Mac select sentence with [Ctrl] and click

It used to be that you could select a whole sentence in Word by holding Ctrl and clicking in the required sentence. I have found this to be very useful. However, it doesn't seem to be possible anymore on a Mac.

Anyone got any solutions?

I am on a 2019 MacBook Pro running BigSur and Word v 16 in Microsoft 365.

Thanks

Answer

Perhaps what you recall was when using Word on a Windows PC :-) On a Mac, selection by sentence is executed by Command+Click.

See the section on selecting text & graphics in this Support Article which also can be accessed by going to Help> Word Help & searching on keyboard shortcuts.
