Word, Excel and PowerPoint won't open

I have a huge problem affecting Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
A couple days ago I noticed Word, Excel and PowerPoint wouldn't open. When I try to open Access or Outlook, they open fine.
The Computer doesn't give me any error, it just "ignores" my request to open any of those three programs.
I already tried to start those programs in safe mode (excel /safe, etc.), reinstalling MS Office again, and repairing it; but it did not change at all.
What could be affecting those programs? Any other program works just fine, even other Office products like Outlook, OneNote and Access, which are installed with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Try the steps below and check the result:

Open Excel or Word as an administrator and check if the issue persists:

  • Browse to the below mentioned location,
  • C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15
  • or C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15,
  • Right click on the “Excel.exe” or “Winword.exe” and click on “Run as Administrator”.

If the above steps fail, try to open the application in clean boot mode:

Note: Ensure to restart the computer to normal mode (Step 3 in the above link) once the troubleshooting is complete.

 

Clean boot is performed to disable all startup programs and 3rd party services on the computer and check if they are conflicting with the Office program. If so, you may disable the unwanted software which conflict with the suite or update the same.
