Word +Body font stuck on Times new Roman

When I switch theme or font theme on the design section it keeps using Times New Roman as +Body en +Heading.

So also theme switching on clean install, clean normal.dot and blank document doesn't switch the fonts.

How can I change those defaults, shouldn't it work with the options I mentioned?

Hi JG, in Word you can change the default font for everything except the built in templates. These templates have a font associated with their style sheet

Otherwise to set default font for everything else:
Press Ctrl + D

In the resulting dialog, set Font, Font Size . . . etc.
At the bottom left, click 'Set as Default'
Then click 'All Documents based on normat.dotm template'

Is it Times New Roman irrespective of the theme chosen? Did you explore Font > Customize Fonts under Design tab?

This is what I see in the font dropdown, Times New Roman for Heading and Body.

This is the setup in my Theme Fonts on the Design tab. As you can see both Heading and Body are set to Arial so I expect the dropdown to show these settings.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for your answer I found this method as well and that works, but I'd like to define some themes with the setup I want for several customer documents.
