Word 2016 white background in dark gray theme

Hi there,

I use the Dark Gray theme for Office 2016 and recently when no document is open in Word, rather than seeing the normal dark gray background like this

I'm instead seeing a white background in the document area.

If I change the theme to another and then back to Dark Gray, I get the normal dark gray background again. but next time when I close a document, I get the white background. I've run the Office 2016 Online repair and this doesn't fix it.

Any suggestions?

I do see this behavior in version 1610 build 7466.2038 (Insider Slow) but not in version 1609 build 7369.2055 (First Release for Deferred Channel). It looks like it's a regression in the later build.

You should report it through the File > Feedback > Send a Frown dialog. With a little luck, it may be fixed in a later build.

By the way, at least for me the dark gray background reappears as soon as I open another document, although the white background appears again if I close the document. There's no need to switch themes.
