Why don't Office365 Exchange calendar overlays work in SharePoint Online?

i cannot seem to get a straight answer on this from microsoft support. i know that in the past, as recently as 12-7-2015 in this forum, it has been said it just does not work. but, the option is there, so it should work, or else it should be removed as an option. the "find" button is useless, the url's do not resolve if entered manually. any real assistance is appreciated.

As per the other post you created about the same thing; it is not supported anymore. There a few things that are included in the O365 version that just don't work. I agree that MS should remove the functionality of things that don't work instead of leaving there but this one is no longer supported I m afraid.

Hi All,

Currently, the feature to make Exchange calendar overlays work in SharePoint online is not available. Some community members also experience inconvenience about it and the best way to influence the product is to submit feedback via the link below:

Your understanding is highly appreciated.

Hi Microsoft,

This issue has been around for well over 2 years now and it still seems that no one has anything to resolve it.

Can anyone offer a better answer than "it's an issue, but there is not plan to fix it"??

Looking forward to a resolution

Phil

Hi, we at VirtoSoftware created Office 365 Calendar Add-in for SharePoint Online that allows to overlay any number of SharePoint Online and Exchange Online calendars.

It is possible to overlay both shared (shared mailboxes) and personal user's calendars.

www.virtosoftware.com/.../calendar-app-for-sharepoint-online

You can try 30 day trial and test it. I would appreciate for any feedback.

Hope it helps you!
