I've tried formatting my document to show page numbers, but they frequently restart and repeat. It goes 1-9, then restarts at 1, but then it repeats as page 1 for the next four pages. So it's 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2, 3, 4, 4, 4, 4,
1, 2, 3... etc. It's annoying as heck. The numbers repeat like that throughout most of the document. I've checked the box "Continue from previous section" but that doesn't change anything. I've tried deleting and redoing the numbering multiple times, but to
no avail. I've inserted several page breaks at the end of each chapter, but not section breaks. The numbering repeats and restarts even when there's no page breaks there. I should let you know that the formatting is a bit different. The margins are set to
.5 inches on the borders and the size of the document is 5.5 x 8.5. It's formatted to be a book. Please advise.
First off, thanks for everyone's help on the matter.
What I ended up having to do was remove the footer and this removed all the page numbers for some reason. Once that happened, I added the page numbers again and it all came out perfect.
I have no idea what caused this issue or why other methods of deleting the page numbers weren't working, but that's what I did to fix it.
