Warm error Code 80090030 - This issue keeps happening to one particular user. Its not a hardware issue. So many people are having this issue as well! Is there a fix?

We have switched computers but still occurs! Why is this?? So many people are having this issue as well! We have tried this  Inside "Identity", create a new REG_DWORD (Type) value called "EnableADAL" (Name), and leave the value at 0 (Data) Right Click on the mouse> Click New> DWORD (32 bit) value. It works for a while, then after the user reboots once or twice, the issue reoccurs again.  Users unable to open outlook, one drive, documents stop being saved it just shows the image containing the warm error.  Please advise on how to fix this issue. Thank you.Image

Hi Nabeel Nasiru,

Thanks for your post and share above information with us.

As only one user account has this problem, it is recommended to contact your administrator to enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) for this user to see if there is any improvement.

For your reference: Set up multi-factor authentication

Note: as the registry key REG_DWORD you created does't help to resolve this issue, please back up the registry firstly and then delete it for the MFA works.

In the meantime, you may also try clearing the TPM to reset the TPM to an unowned state. Note: Clearing the TPM can result in the loss of data. For security concern, please make sure you have a backup or recovery method for any data protected or encrypted by the TPM. You can contact the admins in your organization for further assistance.

Feel free to contact us if you need further assistance. To help you further, we need to confirm following information with you:

1. The detailed version information of the affected devices and Office applications.

2. May I know if your organization is using some special environment like ADFS or Hybrid?

Regards,

Jennifer

Hello Jennifer,

Thank you for the information provided, we will try these steps and see if it resolves the issue. At times, it takes some time for the issue to reoccur, so it would take some time for us to know if the information above helps.

I have already cleared the TPM, the issue still occurred, assigned the user another Workstation as well.

I will set up MFA and see how that helps. I have a quick question though, you mentioned deleting the Registry above, do you mean just deleting the registry key REG_DWORD I created? Please advise, thank you.

None of the steps above solved the issue encountered by the user. The issue has come back again. We have also enabled MFA and switched the user's computer and the issue still persists.

The issue happens with One drive and outlook. The user gets the error code when trying to sign in.

We are using AD on-prem which syncs to Azure.

Outlook version is MSO( 16.0.12730.20252) 64bit

One drive version is  version 2020 (Build 20.052.0311.0011)

Please advise on next steps, this issue has been on going for months now.
