Visio Shapes Missing

Hello all,

There are no shapes displayed in the shapes pane. Also, when I search shapes online, none appear. Has anyone experienced this before?

Hi Alexander,

Thanks for your post in the Microsoft Community.

I've done a test on my side, and the shapes are correctly displayed.

May I confirm if this is a specific Visio file that have this issue?

If the issue is occurring in every Visio file, please use Online Repair to repair your Office suite first.

Repair an Office application

And if the issue persist after using Online Repair, please provide your Office version number and product information with us. You will find it at Visio > File > Account. Just like the one below:

Alex Chen

Hi Alexander,

I did a test under the same Visio version as yours. But I can not reproduce this issue in my test environment.

If you have already tried Online Repair with no good. That means your Visio App's component is not the root cause of this issue.

Please confirm with us about the following information for further troubleshooting.

1.Is this issue occurring in a specific Visio File? Please create a new Visio Drawing and see if the problem persist.

2.Use safe mode to start Visio. See if that make any difference.

3.Is your Visio application activated correctly?

4.Is there any other colleagues of yours having the same issue in their Visio Application?

Appreciate your understanding and patience.

Regards,

Alex Chen

Hi Willie,

The controlled by admins means your Office updates is managed by your admins, so you won't be update the Office suite by yourself.

Normally, it's not going to affect the user experience on the Office apps.

Could you also try the suggestions in my previous reply and see if it works on your side?

Regards,

Alex Chen
