VBA savecopyas changes format of currency

Using VBA to try to make a copy of an open workbook. This workbook has cells formatted for currency, so negative values are displayed in red, and begin with a minus sign. When using savecopyas, with a ne filename the copy is reformatted with negative values surrounded by brackets. I understand this could be down to US English as a default in macros. However, apart from using me.save and then a file system object copy of the saved file, are there any ways around this issue. Using saveas with the new filename and local set to true then using saveas again to bring the open workbook filename back to the original causes Excel to crash.

Any ideas?

Set the Local argument of SaveAs to True.

Andreas.
