Unable to activate office 2016 for mac

When I am trying to activate the office products it's not loading the signing in page. I tried all the available options like, clean the caches, reinstall the product as mentioned in some forum, ran a script to fix this issue (again another forum). I even cleared dns. no change, still cant activate as the sign in page is not loading.

Gives the following error if I try opening learn more.

I was able to resolve this issue after bringing my laptop home and using my home internet connection.  Something within my corporate network must have been preventing me from activating.

The exact opposite is true for me. looks like the connection to the auth server is having issues when using my home broadband.
