Track changes are not showing up on the right - instead on the left in "Revision pane"

Hi - I have Word: ver 16.90.2 and I'm collaborating on a series of documents with 2 other people - up until now, I've been able to see the changes I've affected on the right, as comments with strikethroughs for omits, etc however lately, the changes are showing up on the left in a revision pane, and only after you toggle the "Reviewing" button.

Here's what I've done

Go to "Review", toggle "Track changes", "Turned on for everyone" "Show commends in Line", "All Markup"

Markup Options are clicked "Ink", "Insertions and Deletions" "Formatting", "Balloons"

Preferences as attached

Revision pane as attached

This worked a week ago but not now?

Things I've done:

- look for updates and install in Word

- restarted Word

- restarted my computer

- adjusted margins

- looked at the doc in "Print view"

Markup options and preferences as attached and yet...do you see the changes on the LEFT v the right?

I even asked ChatGPT and have pored through forums - can anyone help?

[Moderator note: thread moved to the Word for Mac category]

Hello Susan O'Neal,

Welcome to the Microsoft community.

Currently we can't tell what's going on with you due to lack of important information, so please send us a screenshot of the current revision window.

Ver 16.90.2 seems to be a version of Office for Mac, but you posted the issue in the Windows section, so could you please tell us if you are using Windows or macOS?

Could you please send us a screenshot with detailed Office version information?

This information is helpful for us to better determine the problem and provide you with a solution.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Sincerely

Carlos - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialisto
