the site on my smartphone it doesn't show the drop-down menus

Hello Jazlyn,

I have another question non-related to Hero web part.

On my site, communications site, I have drop-down menus, which display fine, but when I view the site on my smartphone it doesn't show the drop-down menus. I know it is possible because I have seen other samples of Communications Sites on SharePoint online using drop-down menus and they show up on those sites. Is there a setting that I need to check to allow this? I found some instructions online about going to "Site Settings/Quick Launch" but didn't see anything that will allow me to change any setting. Any suggestions? Thanks!

You mentioned that the drop-down menus of a community site don’t show in SharePoint for mobile. And it just happened to specific communication site. May I now whether you’re talking about this drop-down menu in navigation bar?  

If yes, may I know whether you accessed this site in browser or in SharePoint application on mobile?  We tested at our end, this drop-down list menu shows correctly in mu SharePoint for Mobile app. If you are using SharePoint for Mobile, can you confirm with other community members whether they can see this menu at their end?

 

In the meantime, you mentioned issue only happens to specific site, can you create a new communication site if it’s available?

I tested a sample communication site at my end, I can see this navigation bar in SharePoint application and Safari without problem.

 

May I know in which browser you have this kind issue? If you don’t mind, you can have a try to access this site in Safari to check if it can work correctly. This could be a temporary workaround if it’s available.

 

Moreover, does this issue happen to other members’ end in mobile? It will help us determine whether issue is related to site or browser in mobile.

Hello Mark,

I was using Chrome for the browser. Drop-downs shows fine there. I viewed the site in a apple tablet and it is displaying fine there also, however when I view the site on both, iPhone and droid, from their corresponding browsers, it is kind of hidden (three horizontal lines next to the 9 dots  where all the apps shows. Didn't realize it was displaying but it is kind of hidden. If I view it using the SharePoint app on my iPhone it's obvious where they will be (three horizontal lines)...not sure if you follow.

Since you can see the correct navigation bar in SharePoint application in iPhone and Android, we assume this issue is more likely related to opening the SharePoint web page in the default browsers of devices. You can access SharePoint site in browser on PC or use SharePoint mobile application as a temporary workaround.

 

I can see the correct behavior when checking SharePoint site in Safari on iPhone, given this situation, we sincerely suggest you submit your feedback in SharePoint UserVoice which is the specific place for users to provide suggestions for our products. If this behavior happens to multiple users’ mobile devices in your organization, please contact IT admin to raise a ticket in Office 365 admin center-> New Service Request. The back-end team will investigate this issue and provide suggestions for you.
