Hi, my onedrive can't access the photos saved in the whatsapp folder anymore, the whatsapp folder is inside the Android folder and I believe that's why onedrive can't find it there and show it as a sync option, how can I get around this problem and get my photos synced again?

Hi RodrigoPengo,
Thanks for your post in Microsoft Community. Sorry for the inconvenience.
For the "sync photos WhatsApp one drive" issue, I saw that you had a similar question in the forum before and I didn't answer it due to some rules, that user seems to have answered your question, but I don't know if your question is the same.
And I want to know if you have tried to go into the OneDrive settings on your phone and in the settings, turned off backing up additional folders, and then on again. Refresh to see if you could synchronize.
You should be able to synchronize when you do the following:
1. Install and configure the OneDrive app on your phone.
2. Open the app and click on the Me tab.
3. Go to Settings -> Camera upload.
4. If you enable Camera upload (or you already have it enabled) every picture taken with the phone will get synced with your OneDrive account.
5. Once you confirm your Microsoft account, some more options will be available. We are interested in the Additional folders option. Tap on it.
6. From there you will be able to choose the WhatsApp images folder or the WhatsApp video folder.
Now, by default, whenever you are connected via WiFi, your WhatsApp files will be synced to OneDrive automatically.
You could also try referring to this link to see if it solves your problem.
If there is still a problem, I would like to know when you failed to synchronize, was it not able to synchronize before, or suddenly failed to synchronize? Have you tried uninstalling your OneDrive and reinstalling your OneDrive?
Hope this works. If any updates, welcome to share them with us.
Best Regard,
Kevin | Microsoft Community Support Specialist

thank you Kevin for the tips, but even following them, I couldn't solve the problem, the whatsapp folder just doesn't appear to be able to do the bakcup. an additional info is that my onedrive was linked to samsung cloud, and after that whatsapp disappeared.

Thanks for your reply, I think this is because the Samsung Gallery app doesn't support photos from additional folders. To resolve this:
Disconnect your Samsung Gallery from OneDrive - see below.
Ensure that OneDrive camera roll is enabled. Learn how to Automatically save photos and videos with OneDrive for Android.
If pictures are not showing in your Samsung Gallery or OneDrive camera roll
If you delete files from the Samsung Gallery folder in your OneDrive app, or from within the Samsung Gallery app, they will be deleted from the other app too.
Warning: If you delete any files that sync to the Samsung Gallery, they will be moved to the Recycle Bin and deleted from all your synced devices.

There is no option to disconnect OneDrive from the Gallery, I tried to delete the app, but it is native to the cell phone, there is only the option to deactivate it, and if I deactivate and activate it again it is already linked in the Gallery.
My problem persists, as well as several users.

Hi RodrigoPengo,
You could do the following to see if you could disconnect your OneDrive from the Gallery:
Open your Microsoft Account's Additional security options.
Next to
Samsung account, select Remove.
On your mobile device, go to Settings > Accounts.
Scroll down and select your
Samsung account.
Tap Apps and services then Connected services.
Remove your Microsoft account from the list of linked accounts.
Unlink your Microsoft account from your Samsung account Connected services.
If the problem persists, you may need to report your situation to the relevant team. Go to Settings > Accounts and backup > Samsung Cloud > More > Contact us > Error reports ensuring that Send system log data is enabled.

Well... I was facing the same problem and after a long time looking for a solution I found out the problem wasn't about OneDrive itself, but Samsung Gallery. For some reason, WhatsApp folders aren't avaiable to be selected under the Gallery app sync settings as they used to be, but you can also do it the other way around by going to OneDrive app sync settings and setting the folders you want to sync. Just open the OneDrive app, hit the "Me" tab, "Settings", "Camera upload" and voilà! It worked for me and I hope it also works for you guys.

I've been having this issue for a long time now too. I've got as far are step 1 of 1 above but step 1 of 2 isn't there? There isn't a Samsung account in the list anymore for me to select?
