Startup and Templates Menu of Word Starter 2010

Hello,

1. Could you tell me how I can access the startup menu and templates menu, in Microsoft WordStarter 2010. I tried searching the computer with the following but I drew a blank.

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates

C:\Users\usernme\Application Data\Microsoft\Word\STARTUP

2. Also please tell me how I can access the Add-ins. This was possible In the Word 2007 version from 'options>advanced menu, but I can't find it in the Word Starter 2010 version.

Regards.

The Starter version is not compatible with add-ins or macros. You need the full version of Office for that.

Graham has replied to your direct question. However, for more on differences between Word Starter and Word, see http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/starter-help/word-features-that-are-not-fully-supported-in-word-starter-HA010374498.aspx?CTT=5&origin=HA101886942.

Hello Stefan

Thank you for this information. I am trying to speed up my Word Starter by disabling things I don't use; so far without success. It takes anything between 20 to 40 seconds to open a document, even a blank one. Do you have any suggestions?

I see you often in the forums. Nice to see you answering so many questions. It's a pity that we can't direct a question to a particular person in the forums!

Best regards.

Romain

Sorry, since I use "ordinary" Word, I know very little about Word Starter.

Mr. RickWilliamson,

I am also still waiting for an answer to this question, in my original post on top!

The Starter version relies on downloading parts of the application from the internet.

The delay is the price that you pay for "free" software.

Hope this helps,

Below is a 'copy' and 'paste' of the number one question from my first post, at the beginning of this thread, which is conveniently missed by everybody.

" Could you tell me how I can access the startup menu and templates menu, in Microsoft WordStarter 2010. I tried searching the computer with the following but I drew a blank...................."

RickWilliamson has spotted that the main question is being side-stepped. So he is also asking "Where is the start up menu?"

Therefore, my reply to him above "I am also still waiting for an answer to this question, in my original post on top!"

I have already acknowledged the information I received as "helpful", regarding question number 2. Question number one regarding the location of the startup menu is unanswered.
