Spell Check on Microsoft Word latest update.

The macro

Sub DisplayTraditionalSpellCheckDialog()
Dialogs(wdDialogToolsSpellingAndGrammar).Show
End Sub

wont work anymore in the lastest update. I want the old spell checker in Word. Just updated Word this week. Any solutions to gain back the old spell checker?

At File | Account, what does your installation say under "Product Activated"? I have Office Professional Plus which may be relevant here.

Now I'm up to Version 1812.  Grrr.  Still no solution.

Here, the macro

Sub DisplayTraditionalSpellCheckDialog()
Dialogs(wdDialogToolsSpellingAndGrammar).Show
End Sub

still displays the classic Spelling & Grammar dialog box in version 1810 of Word as part of Office 365 ProPlus.

I can confirm that this is working in 1810 of Office 365 Home.

I can also confirm that it was not working in 1809.

Stefan:

This is the error message I get.  I've also included a snapshot of the macro in VB.  Also, I don't have ProPlus.  I have Office 365 Personal, Version 1812.

You have two Sub commands and only one End Sub. If you want your macro to be named GoodOldSpellCheck instead of DisplayTraditionalSpellCheckDialog, then remove the Sub line for the latter.

Editor pane still rears its ugly head.

I give up.

Two factors are at play here: the different "brands" (Office Personal versus Office ProPlus) and the different version numbers. You are using an Insider version and it is possible that Microsoft has definitely dropped support for the old interface. :-(
