Slide number not shown after adding it (even when selected in slide master view)

Dear community,

I have created a slide master in which I have selected the footer checkbox in the slide master settings and it looks as follows:

How can I make sure that the slide numbers also appear on normal slides (they even don't appear when pressing insert -> slide number)?

I believe you need no re-apply the master with the page number to your slide.

This does not work for me. Even when inserting a new slide based on the layout, the slide number is not shown:

Try:

INSERT > Header & Footer

Tick Slide Number and then "Apply to All"

Unfortunately when I do this nothing changes so no footnote is shown

You haver deleted all but one layout. This means that PPT will always interpret slides following it as a TITLE slide.

You have also ticked "DO NOT SHOW SLIDE NUMBER ON TITLE SLIDES"

Untick the latter option
