sign in not working office 2016 windows 7

I have several systems with windows 7 32/64 that refuse to sign in with office 2016

once the account and password is entered the dialog windows vanish - nothing further happens

this is with word etc and a browser

have tried all suggested fixes including officeact.diagcab and repair office

Hi all - After a day of chaos and no help from MS I finally pieced together the solution :

Java script is part of the problem but the main issue is Internet Explorer

Microsoft account login uses IE or the nightmare Edge exclusively regardless of what your default browser is set as.

Only IE 10 or above works properly

You need to update the 7 system to service pack 1 and update IE to 10 - 11 gives problems

I hope this helps those who still have Windows 7 systems ( the Best OS yet ! )

I doubt MS will bother fixing this But it would be nice if they add this to the Login Problem Support Page
