Sign In issue on Skype for business on Mac OS

Hi Team,

I am not able to sign in to Skype for business on Mac machine. I was able to login earlier on Skype but from last day I am getting this issue. Skype for business version is 16.19.132 and Mac OS Sierra version 10.12.6 (16G29).

I tried cleaning the lync installation looking at all the existing threads.

I can attach the logs which collected during the sign in action. Let me know how can I share those.

Hi Team,

I'm running into exactly the same issue, and I think it's something in 16.19.132.  Prior to the upgrade, I was able to login fine.  Is there a way we can downgrade Skype to the previous version?  I hunted around for version downloads, but was unable to find them.

Thanks.

Hi sandeepKshatryiya,

Is that means, Skype for Business on Mac crashed when you trying to sign in, or encountered any errors?

Please follow these steps to clean the cache for Skype for Business:

1. Log out and quit Skype for Business.

2. Go to Finder > press Command+Shift+G, type in the following location and delete the file

Location: ~/library/Containters> deleet com.microsoft.SkypeForBusiness

Location: ~/library/Internet Plug-Ins > delete MeetingJoinPlugin.plugin

Location: ~/library/Logs > delete LwaTracing

Location: ~/library/Saved Application State > delete com.microsoft.SkypeForBusiness.savedState

Location: ~/library/Preferences > delete com.microsoft.skypeforbusiness.plugin.plist

3. Open Keychain Access from Finder > Applications> search “skype for business” in the search box, delete all files.

4. Re-start Skype for Business to check the result.

Meanwhile, please close all Anti-virus software to see if issue persists. If yes, I’d like to collect the following information from you:

1. Would you please provide the entire log to me in Private Messages for analysis?

2. And if you encountered the error or warning messages, please provide a screenshot of it to me.

3. Whether this issue began to occur after updated?

Regards,

Anna

None of these steps matter.  This is an authentication problem between the client and the corporate Skype server.  MS has updated something in the background that's made it impossible to log in.  I can't tell if it's with the Skype client itself, or something else with Office for Mac.

Hi Jason VanPatten,

Do you have any screenshot of error if you encounter, or any log the application prompt? You can send the error or log to me in private messages: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/privatemessage/inbox .

Thanks,

Anna

Hi Jason VanPatten,

Thanks for the logs you provided. To further scope whether it is Skype for Business Mac client issue, I will give you a test account in Private Messages, please use this test account to login to your client and see if issue persists.

Meanwhile, I’d like to know if your organization have a local Skype for Business server, or use Skype for Business online service? Whether other people using Mac in organization have the same issue?

Thanks,

Anna

I'm not sure whether it's a local or the online service, and unfortunately it's going to be difficult to find out.  No one else is using a Mac at the office; just me.  And again: this was working perfectly until the most recent Mac Office and Mac Skype patch.

I first see this, which is where I put the login name you gave me in the PM:

I hit the Continue button and see this for about 2-3 minutes.

An alert pops up saying "We couldn't connect to the server..." and then it's back to the login screen.

Anna, et al -

OK, I was able to log in this morning using the test account.  But my account here at work still won't let me log in.  As a reminder: I can log in with the same credentials using Skype on Windows.  It's just on the Mac that I can't log in.
