SharePoint Online - I am trying to move folders/files from one document library to another. I cannot find the "open in explorer" function. I am an owner, but not an administrator.
To move folders/files from one document library to another, you can do exactly that in your browser.
After selecting the folders and files you want to move, click Move to, and you can place these selected files in the destination. The destination can be another site / document library / folder.
Notes:
1. If you don't see other sites listed when you attempt to move or copy items, your organization doesn't allow moving or copying across sites.
2. When you use Move to, the history of the document is copied to the new destination.
3. When a file is moving, it continues to appear in the source directory until it's fully moved to the destination and then it will be deleted. The file will remain in the source sites recycle bin after the Move is complete and be subject to the normal recycle
schedule unless a user recovers it from the recycle bin.
4. Moving OneNote notebooks outside of the OneNote app is not recommended.
5. Move to works best within the
SharePoint Online limits.
Appreciate your time and patience.
Best regards,
Madoc
