SharePoint 365 ::: Page :::: Header ::: BackGround image does not stay

Hi All..

I have a customer that is trying to change the background image of  the header of a SharePoint 365 page.

So he has created a page by click the cog, then "add Page".

and then they edit the page... and  click the change background image icon, on the  title, it all works perfectly, they can save and publish and everything..   But when they revisit the page.. it is the same background image that was present when the page was created

Can any one help......

Thanks

Hi, K.I. Woollard,

Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Based on the description, I need to collect the following information to troubleshooting:

  1. Please new a page again, change it, does the same issue happen?
  2. Try use a different account and have a test , does the same issue appear?
  3. Please add and edit a page on other sites, can this issue repro or not?
  4. The detailed steps he/she did before this page be published.

Please tell us the result.

Best Regards

So the Steps that are take are.

Step A)    Within a Team site (Classic) Click the "Cog" located top Left, And then Select "Add a page"

Step B)  The page  should now be in front of you it Edit Mode..

Hover your mouse over the title [1] , you should see a menu appear above [2] if you hover your mouse over the top menu option, the tool tip help should say "Add Image"

Step c) press the add image button....

Use the next screen to select an image within SharePoint, The screen image below shows me adding a jpg from the "site Assets" area.

Step D) Click "Save and Close" and then "Publish"

Step E) All looks wonderful until you re-visit the page.

Thanks for replying... and some good questions that made me think  .

But unfortunately I tried png and Jpeg, and both suffer the same issue..  The file is definitely there and I can browse to it..

The file is definitely Checked in,and published.. and it cant be a permission issue as i'm using the same user to view as uploaded..

:-( might haft to give upon this one..

But thanks for trying.
