Shapes formatting question Word 2016

1) Text is not visible in an (auto?)shape that has 3D effect applied. How do I make the text show?

2) It used to be that when I wanted to change the alignment of a shape in relation to the surrounding text in a document I would right-click on the shape and do Format, Autoshape (or text box, etc) and then there was a tab that had settings like Inline, Square, Behind Text, In Front of Text, etc. Now when I do Format, Autoshape I get Fill and Line settings; Effects settings; and Layout and Properties settings, which has vertical alignment, text direction, margins, and alt-text settings. How do I change the In Front of Text, etc settings?

Hi Devin,

The Wrap Text section of the context menu and the LAYOUT OPTIONS of the shape allows users to format the text within the selected item. To do this, you can perform the following:

  1. Right-click on the specified shape.
  2. Locate Wrap Text.
  3. Select your desired setting.

In addition, you can click the LAYOUT OPTIONS to format the text. To do this, you can perform the following:

  1. Click on the specified shape.
  2. Locate the LAYOUT OPTIONS icon.
  3. Select your desired setting.

Let us know how it goes after you've performed the steps.
