ROIC - calculation

I'm trying to come up with ideas to analyse:

1. Acumulated balance per month/year (investment capital)

2. Average balance during the period (month/year)

3. ROIC budget and real --> based on average capital invested, for EX: stock market, considering buy/sell activity

Does any one has suggestions?
