Hi TnkK,

Thanks for the information.

Through private message, I understand you are now using SMTP Relay. As SMTP Relay needs a connector to set up, I would like to confirm whether you have done that. Here are the steps to do it:

Hi... sorry I had to sort out some stuff.

I was told that SMTP relay was installed on our new server but doing a Lot of research I found that it was not.

I do not know if that is good or not in this case but it gives a clean slate to work from and that is good.

I'm sending you the printer setting and the ip address to the new server.

As soon as I find how to add attachment to this email

Hi TinkK,

From your screenshot, it seems you are using SMTP client submission and your printer doesn’t support TLS. From the official article, to use the SMTP client submission, your device must be able to use TLS version 1.0 and above.

I notice that your printer only supports SSL. If it is essential to use SMTP client submission and your printer only supports SSL 3.0, you can set up an alternative configuration called Indirect SMTP client submission. This uses a local SMTP relay server to connect to Office 365.

To use SSL, you need to configure Internet Information Server (IIS) for relay with Office 365 correctly.

If you haven’t configured IIS, please configure it according to this article: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn592151(v=exchg.150).aspx

Regards,

Monique

I have added IIS to the server and did all the instruction listed. Still can not get email out. How ever I think we are closers.

Things I have done and the outcome.

1. Did all the required setting on the printer.

2. Open ports 25 and 587 in WatchGuard to allow passage to Office365. I can ping office 365 from any computer, and from the sever using both ports. I can not ping from the printer to the server or Office 365. I can ping the printer from any computer or server.

3. Install IIS on server and set up as in the instruction. I sent a test email from the server through telnet. The email hangs in Queue. I tried to send to both my office 365 account and my personal Gmail & Comcast account. No luck.

Format I used is : Sender -the printers 365 account and Receiver my 365.

4. I Verified that Printers 365 account is set up and password working.

Hi Tink,

Thanks for the updates.

To test whether the issue is related to Office 365 server or not, please configure your Office 365 account in the Outlook client through POP or IMAP. If you can send emails without problem, then the issue might be related to the printer itself.

As configuring the IIS server needs SSL 3.0, so I want to confirm whether your printer supports that. If not, we cannot use client submission to send the emails.

Thanks,

Robert

Hi... ok I just got word that I have a computation to the printer problem. Our new President just sign the order to replace the printers. The new printers are due next week sometime. They should have all update software on them which mean I should be able to go back to the original plan and use Option 1, SMTP client submission.

I will not know until they get here..  right now it will be best plan to put stuff on hold until the printers are here.

Thanks for you help and I'll keep you updated.

Tink
