Resizing a MS Excel table

I have a MS Excel file loaded on my Microsoft Excel for Mac (version 16.31).  I have very simple instructions from Microsoft on resizing my table to add rows and columns, but it doesn't work.

I have opened the file, clicked anywhere on the table and I am told I will see a "table tools"option.  But all I see is a "table" option and (if I click on table) I do not see the ability to design the table to add extra columns.  Am I missing something?

Answer

Hi

The Table tab of the Ribbon being active lets you know you have a true Excel table.

Right-click in the table and you can insert rows and columns.
