recovering editing in odt formatted document

I was sent a document in odt format. When I made editing to the document through track changes, the changes I made are not visible as tracks when I saved and closed the file. I need to view the changes again because I need to reflect these changes in another similar document. I tried enabling track changes, view all markups, view markups by all reviews, etc, but non of that seem to work. The only changes that I am able to see are comments, but not the insertion, deletion, formatting, etc

Tracked changes are not supported when you save your file in the *.odt format.
