Project was unable to establish a connection with "https://project.microsoft.com".

Thank you all!

I'm trying to connect both the desktop app and the web app so that I can move a project to the web environment, but I keep on getting the following message:

Project was unable to establish a connection with "https://project.microsoft.com".

This could be caused by a loss of network connectivity or inadequate permission to connect to Project Web App.

I'm using the corporate credentials (from my employer) in both desktop and Web, and the URL is the one I use for the Project Web App.

Unless I get disconnected from the Intranet right at the second the connection tries to be established and then reconnects, I doubt it's a matter of network connectivity because everything else works fine.

I have consulted helpdesk at my job, but they don't seem to know what I'm talking about (typical).

Thank you

Leonel --

You are using the wrong URL for Project Web App (PWA).  In your screenshot, you are showing the Project Home page for Project for the Web, which is Microsoft's newest web based project management tool.  At the bottom of the Project Home page, click the Go to Project Online link.  Doing so will navigate you to the Home page of Project Web App.  Use the URL for this page in your connection account in Microsoft Project, but strip off the /default.aspx text at the end of the URL.  Hope this helps.
