Powerpoint slide title reformats when saved/shared

I have created a PowerPoint template with a Title Slide that has both a title and a subtitle located close to the bottom right-hand corner of the slide. Whenever I save and share presentations made with this template, the text formatting is lost and the title and subtitle are repositioned and resize to be more vertical than horizontal and positioned furthermost top left-hand corner of the slide. Users need to then select the Title Slide layout again for the formatting and position to return to normal. This happens whenever the presentation is closed and reopened.

Hello Brian, Thanks for reaching out here regarding this query. Have you been able to use PowerPoint without this issue in the past? Or this is actually your first attempt with the seemingly problematic functionality? Is the situation here being experienced on the desktop app and/or online platform? I will be able to use the relevant feedback information you provide to better see how I can help you with the experience you're having. Thank you! Warm regards, Albert

Hi Albert,

I have been able to use PowerPoint without this issue. I use it a lot, and this is the first time I've encountered this issue.

The issue seems to occur on both desktop and online versions of PowerPoint. Using the same template, it has happened when presentations have been sent to me, when I have sent them to others and even just when I close and reopen a presentation file.

The first image attached is a screenshot of the title slide as I save and close PowerPint, and the second is what I see when I reopen the same file.

Thanks again for your message, and your assistance.

Kind regards,

Brian.

Hi Brian, Thanks for the update. I'm assuming the issue initiates from an automated features in PowerPoint that can be contradicted. Here's a reference link: https://www.avantixlearning.ca/microsoft-powerpoint/training-how-to-turn-off-automatic-text-resizing-in-powerpoint/ NOTE: This is a non-Microsoft website. The page appears to be providing accurate, safe information. Watch out for ads on the site that may advertise products frequently classified as PUP (Potentially Unwanted Products). Thoroughly research any product advertised the site before you decide to download and install it. Try the procedure in the above link and try relaunching the PowerPoint slide to see if that fixes it. Warm regards, Albert

For starters, don't waste your time with Albert's suggestion. It's not relevant to what you're seeing.

As a test, what happens if you create the same slide as in the first screenshot then reapply the layout before saving?

Hi Albert,

This approach stopped the text boxes from repositioning, but only one time. The next time I closed and reopened the issue persisted. In any case, the text kept losing its formatting.

Thank you for your help, but I think there my be something else at play here.

Kind regards,

Brian.

Hi Steve,

Yes, the issue persists even when the layout is reapplied before saving. No matter what I do, the positioning and text formation on that particular layout is lost whenever I close the file.

Kind regards,

Brian.
