Pen draws 2 cm away from where pen tip touches the screen.

Hi Team

I have a surface pro 4 with Office 2016. When I use my pen to draw (write) in word, it writes 2 cm away from where the pen tip touches the screen.

The surface pen works fine in all other applications including Powerpoint.

Could you please help?

Thanks

Prashant

Hi Prashant,

Are you using the pen that comes with Surface Pro 4 or you are using a different pen?

To fix this issue, you may try to re-calibrate the pen with Surface Pro and check if it helps.

Please post to us if you need any further assistance with Office.

Thank you.

Hi Sagnik

I am using the pen I had got with Surface Pro 4. It works absolutely fine in all other apps including the office apps itself like Powerpoint. It is an issue with Word only.

However, please let me know how to re-calibrate and I will try. I will let you know the results after that.

Thanks

Thanks for your feedback.

If it works fine in other applications, re-calibrating will almost certainly not help.

However, to calibrate the pen, go to Settings and in the Find a setting box at the top right of the screen, type Calibrate Pen and you should see a Tablet PC Settings dialog on the Display tab on which there is a Calibrate button.

Hope this helps,

Hi Prashant,

Please let us know if re-calibrating helped. If not, could you please confirm what version of Office are you using? To do this, go to File --> Account --> About Word

Thanks!
