Page Break Drop Down Box Not Showing in Ribbon Word 2016

As you can see from the above picture I have noted that the Page Break section of Word 2016 in Windows 10 is not showing the drop down box like the Cover Page section is.  I know it used to be there because I use it quite often.  What happened to it and how do I fix it?

And yes... I made sure that Windows was updated... I checked.  There were no updates available.

Please advise,

Hi,

First, you do not need that button. Ctrl+Enter will insert a page break.

Word has a tendency to re-arrange buttons (making them smaller or larger depending on available space). It is likely still there, although possibly in a group or even a drop-down that says "Pages."

Also, page breaks are on the Layout tab with section breaks and column breaks.  That may be the drop-down you were thinking of. On the Insert tab, page break is only a button, not a drop-down. This is how it has always been.

Much better than manual page breaks for most purposes is paragraph formatting of Page-break-before. Properly used, this allows much better control of the flow of text.
