Outlook flag reminders (desktop app)

Using flags in Outlook 2016 emails, now since upgrading, I am unable to set flag follow-ups for tomorrow or next week or specific dates.

I understand on imap devices such will not work but in Outlook emails (as per previous versions 2013, 2010 etc) is this possible still?

Can flags be upgraded in 2016?

thanks

Using the trial version of office online (2016 so says the app installed from 365), when setting a flag, there are no options to follow-up on a specific day for the reminder notification. In office 2010 and earlier was able to set email flags for tomorrow, or any date though using the online version, there are no options. Either the flag is on or off.

No actual error. Option to set a specific date/time are missing.

1. Right click the email displayed header in Office from the inbox for example, select Flag | Flag Message and not option to remind in the future.

2. Also using the Flag from the toolbar will not show the options.

3. Opening the email into it's own window, using the above two steps same result.

When using Office Outlook 2010 and 2007 they presented the options required.

See image attached below from OL 2010 with a working flag system (Today, Tomorrow, This Week..).

See below OL 2016/365 trial online office.

thanks

I have had the same issue and talking to support gets you nowhere.  They either tell you this is a "custom request", or have referred me to the Outlook.com training site.  This is a big productivity issue, and yet nobody at support has a clue what you're talking about.  Outlook 2016 is a huge step backwards - also have indexing issue to search emails.

I have the same issue. POP3 accounts with Outlook 2016 this function exists but not with IMAP. I wish now I had not converted to IMAP. Also agree with the quality of Microsoft support - virtually useless

Have they come up with a solution yet? Can you use IMAP and get the flag for follow up to work yet? I've been trying to get help from Microsoft "support" for hours now and we're going in circles...  virtually useless is a great description.  It sounds like if I switch to POP there are other problems.

No they haven't and I have now given up with Microsoft support. It is a real retrograde step - how do they expect people to keep track of follow up actions?

I've gone back to the CD version now for Outlook. At least that works.

When items were flagged in the online Outlook, follow-ups due on date could not be created, amongst other Online Outlook features that do not work online but work on the cd version such as coloured categories on contacts.

Disappointed user.

There is a kluge work around for follow flags.  Using shft/contol/g brings up the options window.  As for support - they are absolutely worthless.  I had a level 2 tech try to tell me Outlook never did this with flags!  as for the search and indexing issue - I'm now in the process of reinstalling Windows 10.  A royal pain in the butt!

I found that I don't actually get the pop-up reminders when using the shift/control/g option. Yes it will flag it but it will not keep the dates either from my experience which means it isn't really useful either. This is definitely a major issue in my eyes and makes Outlook useless since that's the major reason I had my emails pulling through Outlook.
