Outlook Calendar and default reminder time for All Day Events

Dear MS Community,

Does anyone have any idea if there already is a possibility to set a customized default reminder time for all day events (ADEs)?

I do not mean how long before hour 00:00 of the said day I want to be reminded of... If reference to the day starts at 00:00, how can I set a [default] reminder that would show me the pop-up at, say, 09:00 of that day?

Currently, the reminder can be set for between ) 0 minutes and 2 weeks BEFORE midnight of the ADE. Well, if I want to set a reminder for 09:00 of the ADE, we would need to have an option to select a "9 hours +". Alternatively, the default time for an ADE to occur could be customized (e.g., ADE's go from 00:00 to 24:00 (or 23:59:59 if you're a purist :-)) and the pop-up appears at 08:00 (or any other input hour).

Note: I work with Outlook 2016 in the office and Office 365 Home, at home.

Many thanks,

Xilef

You cannot set a default reminder for all day events - it should either be 12 or 18 hours prior, depending on how it was configured.

It is possible to use a macro to change the time when you create a new all day event. I have code samples here: https://www.slipstick.com/developer/reminder-al...

Thanks, Diane. I will try this later.

Anyway, @ Microsoft - it is still ridiculous that you cannot set a default hour to remind you of ADEs. Outlook's embedded reminders are built around the concept of "X hours before midnight of the ADE". Why the heck can't you set "midnight" = hour 00:00 to any other hour (say, 08:00) as the default???

Best,

Xilef

It should default to either 12 hours before or 18 hours before - with one big exception. If you receive a meeting request without a reminder set, it will set your default reminder. Accepting a meeting on the phone may set a different reminder time too.

Diane, thanks but this does not address my issue with the calendar.

I don't care about the default or user set reminder. I always set it to ZERO minutes. what I care is that the reminder actually takes place at the hour of the day that I choose. Setting a time for before doesn't help. I want the ADE reminders to take place at 9:00 AM of the day of the event. that's it.

Best,

Xilef

If you could set a default reminder time for all day events, that could solve your problem. There's a suggestion to allow negative reminders for a reminder after the event started. That is really what you need.
