OneNote Online notebooks missing, have to open individually from OneDrive

When I sign into OneNote Online, it does not show me any of my notebooks to open. I see two shared notebooks, but not my notebooks (I have several).  I have the option to create a notebook, but when I do that it still never shows. I have to select the
"Manage and Delete" option which opens OneDrive and then I have to find my notebook to open it.

This was only inconvenient until I started to try and use other tools to insert content into my OneNote documents, such as IFTTT.  Without a default OneNote notebook, that functionality is broken.  Here is an image showing what I see when I sign into OneNote Online.  Any ideas on how to correct this? I'm happy to purge my online data and start over if needed.

Do the notebooks show in the Recent docs on onedrive online. Try using a diff.. browser, see if the notebooks showup.
Truth is still truth, even if you don't believe in it.

Yes they show in recent docs, but no it doesn't work with a different browser. Same problem all around. The larger issue is that any third-party tool that connects to OneNote breaks because there doesn't appear to be a default notebook or notebooks at the root. I think something is messed up in the metadata in OneNote Online.

I have the same problem.

All my Onenote notebooks sync OK with OneDrive and I am able to open them from OneDrive.

However some notebooks they fail to appear on OneNote.com as  'OneNote online ' notebooks.  I want to change the default location for my quicknote, but am unable to select the onenote notebook I want because it fails to show up in the OneNote app as a option, or as a notebook available to select.

I have even created a new notebook from within OneNote.com but that is also to select from OneNote.com and I have to go to OneDrive to access it.

Any advice/solutions are welcome.

Hi Roderick,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft OneNote Community.

Sorry for the delay in reply.

I would like to know how you uploaded the OneNote notebooks to OneDrive.

If uploaded within the OneNote application by using the share option, you will be able to see the notebooks on OneNote Online.

Regarding, changing the location of ‘Quick note’, then open OneNote > Click on ‘File’ tab > Options > Save & Backup > Under ‘Save’ category, modify the location of ‘Quick note’.

For further queries, reply and we would be happy to assist.

Thank you.

I do have the same problem. Onenote.com only shows me old notebooks, not newly created ones. This happes with my main live.com account. Using another account live.com account on the same computer works fine.

I do have Office 365 running on W81.

onenote.com

* I do only see old onenote notebooks stored in my onedrive/documents folder

Onenote 2013 - Desktop App

* I can create new notebooks, which are automatically stored in onedrive/documents

* Opening notebooks from within Onenote and connected onedrive account only shows me the same notebooks as on onenote.com

Onenote 2010 (company computer)

* In onenote 2010 connected to the very same onedrive account does show me ALL onenote notebooks without any problems

Onenote APP (Android)

* I only see the same notebooks as on onenote.com

* Opeining the notebook via the onedrive app works - but is a bit complicated

Onedrive/documents

* All onenote notebooks are stored here and can be manually opened eitherin within the onenote.com or onenote desktop application

* This folder is also the location of the notebooks, which are shown on onenot.com
